The story
The idea
A year-long habit: one tiny room a week, set in the quiet hour before dawn. No client, no brief, just a lamp and whatever was on my mind.
How they are made
Each diorama is blocked out in an evening, sculpted and hand-painted over the weekend, then lit like a small stage. I keep every scene under a metre wide so it feels like something you could hold.
Where it went
Fifty-two scenes later, Small Hours became a printed book, a gallery show in Porto and the reason two of my favourite clients first wrote to me.
