About
I paint and build small, warm worlds.
I’m Noor Ashby, an illustrator, game artist and 3D artist. I run Lanternwick, a two-person studio in Porto.
Most of my work starts the same way: a pencil thumbnail of a house, then the road to the next one. Before long there is a village, a light in every window and a reason to stay a little longer.
I work with game studios, publishers and brands who want worlds that feel handmade, from a single book cover to a full environment kit.

The studio, rebuilt as a village. Every house on the home page is a project.

From sketch to world

01 Thumbnails
Pencil sketches and a mood board, so we agree on the feeling first.
02 Colour keys
The hero painting sets the palette and the light for everything after.
03 Sculpt
Blockout, then sculpt and paint in 3D, checked from the real game camera.
04 Polish
Lighting, a final pass on every prop and a clean hand-off.
